[ 8.] Charles Alexander, (ed.), Alexander’s Magazine 3 (February 1907): 165-212.
Whole issue of an African American periodical containing articles, poetry, columns, editorials, and advertisements. Mr. Stone has marked a review of A Fearless Southern Leader: Slavery and the Race Problem in the South, with Special Reference to the State of Georgia, an address by William H. Fleming to the alumni of the “State University” in Athens [University of Georgia]. Mr. Stone’s marginal notations are most vigorous when the reviewer discusses miscegenation. (The collection has a copy of Fleming’s speech [volume 97, no. 26], which is also marked by Mr. Stone.)
