Volume: 99

[14.] Charles Alexander, (ed.), Alexander’s Magazine and the National Domestic 4 (September 1907): 225-80.

Whole issue of an African American periodical containing articles, poetry, columns, editorials, and advertisements. Mr. Stone has marked an article entitled “A Brief History of the Niagara Movement” by Archibald H. Grimke. Mr. Stone has noted five demands issued by the Niagara Movement at Harpers Ferry in 1906. To wit; 1) “full manhood suffrage,” 2) an end to discrimination in public accommodation, 3) “the right of freemen to walk, talk and be with them that wish to be with us,” 4) “laws enforced against rich as well as poor,” and 5) a better education for African American children.
