Survey of the attempts by Confederate veterans in West Virginia after the Civil War to regain their right to vote. The survey begins with the state’s first constitution in 1863 and ends with the Flick Amendment in 1871, which restored suffrage to ex-Confederates. A copy of Mr. Stone’s “Material Wanted” pamphlet is bound to the end of this monograph.
