3. The Colored American Magazine 2 (November 1900): 1-80.


Whole issue of “an illustrated monthly, devoted to literature, science, music, art, religion, facts, fiction and traditions of the Negro race.” The magazine is illustrated with photographs and displays advertisements on the last page and back cover. A photograph of Miss M. Eulalia Reid appears on the cover. She is described in the issue as “a young Baltimore girl whose extraordinary vocal qualifications have excited wonder and admiration wherever heard.” She is the founder of the Musical Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, “where , assisted by a well-known faculty, she teaches the most appoved [sic] method of musical culture.”
