38. Oskar Mann, “Mohammedanism in the Nineteenth Century,” ,” North American Review 171 (November 1900): 754-68.

Essay regarding the explosive growth of the Islamic faith. The author attributes this growth to its simplicity and its adaptability to local customs. “On the whole, Mohammedanism shows a marvelous adaptability.
