History of a school in Boston established to accommodate freed women and children displaced by the war. Potential residents were identified at Fortress Monroe in Virginia and transported to Boston. A table indicating the number of residents broken down by age, gender, and place or origin appears on page 13. A list of donors is printed on pages 15 through 18.
