Annual report from an organization the served as the prototype for the Freedmen’s Bureau. This report is extensive and covers a wide variety of topics, such as racial prejudice directed toward the Superintendent and his assistants, insect infestation of crops, guerrilla depredations, schools, marriage, and miscegenation. Most of the data contained in this report concerns crop production on plantations leased to African Americans.
