Early promotional piece to encourage tourism in Florida. It was meant to counter unfavorable stereotypes of the State, which the author summed up in an introductory comment from a traveler on his way to Italy. “Will you tell me why, with all Europe open, you persist in traveling to and through a country [Florida] that has no art, history, or scenery?”
