Letters advocating the abolition of slavery in the United States addressed to two Anglican priests associated with the Evangelical Alliance in England, an inter-denominational organization concerned with social welfare. The first letter to Rev. James is entitled “Christian Fellowship with Slave-Holders and the Evangelical Alliance.” The title of the second letter addressed to Rev. Wardlaw is “Can Slave-Holders Become Members of the Evangelical Alliance?”
