43. J[eremiah] Morton, The Slave Question: Speech of Hon. J. Morton, of Virginia, in the House of Representatives, Feb. 6, 1850, on the Questions in Dispute between the North and the South ([Washington, DC]: Congressional Globe Office, [1850?]). (8 p.)

Speech criticizing Northern representatives for opposing efforts of the South to extend slavery into the western territories. Doing so, according to the speaker, increases sectional animosity and makes the prospect of permanent disunity more likely.
