Alfred H. Stone Collection
Volume: 37

1. B. T. Tanner, ed., A. M. E. Church Review 2 (July 1885, [whole no. 5]): 1-104.

Whole issue of a periodical containing articles related to the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Josephine J. Turpin offers a biographical sketch of Charles Dickens on pages 34-40. Mr. Stone has marked the following passage in an article entitled “Mirabeau—An Oration” by Gregory Willis Hayes, a student at Oberlin College. “Reason demands that in judging this man, prejudice be laid aside. He must not be tried by the standards of to-day, but by those of the time in which he lived.”
