Report concerning the colonization of African Americans in Liberia. A photograph of General Roger A. Sherman, Secretary of War and of the Navy for the Republic of Liberia, serves as the frontispiece. A biographical sketch follows. Gen. Sherman was born a slave in Savannah, Georgia, and emigrated to Liberia with his parents in 1853 when he was fifteen years old.
