9. Chas. B. Pearre, A Review of the Unconstitutional Laws, of the Twelfth Legislature of Texas, and the Oppressions of the Present Administrations Exposed (Baltimore, MD: J. D. Lipscomb, 1872). (162 p.)
Critique of the Reconstruction government in Texas. In a open letter to the people of Texas printed on the reverse of the title page, the author writes as follows. “I present you a short review of some of the obnoxious laws passed during the present administration of the government of Texas, and expose some of the frauds and oppressions of the party in power, and hope that this tyranny and misrule, ere long, may give place to simple justice and pure patriotism.”
