A collection of letters, bills and receipts written to residents of Sherman in the northeast corner of Pontotoc County. The majority of the information was written to members of the Surratt and Johnson families.

The collection consists of two folders of material, one dated (1873–1914) and one undated. The letters were sent to Sherman from as far away as Wichita Falls, Texas, and as close as Prairie Station. The letters were written to friends and family members and discuss family matters, weather, crops, and living conditions. The receipts and bills are for farm goods.
