COUNCIL SCHOOL FOUNDATION CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT

1973

The Council School Foundation was in charge of a system of private schools started by the Citizens Council in response to integration in late 1964. The collection contains a contract of employment form for the Council School Foundation for school year 1973–1974. The contract was for employment in Council School 3 Manhattan, Jackson. The document provides evidence of reaction to the integration of public schools in Mississippi. Contained within the contract are statements against school integration, support of segregation and the declaration that Council schools are solely for "white children."
