New Providence Baptist Church was constituted on July 27, 1805, and was one of the five churches which organized the Mississippi Baptist Association in 1806. The church is not mentioned in the minutes of that association after 1930, the year in which the church was destroyed and not rebuilt (Amite County and Liberty, Mississippi Sesqui-Centennial, 1959). This collection consists of one volume containing the minutes of church conferences, church rolls, articles of faith and gospel order, church covenant, and miscellaneous materials.
