J. D. Barksdale operated a cotton gin in Goshen Springs in 1939.
Scope and Content
Duplicate gin receipts for seed cotton from September 14, 1939, to October
6, 1939, and two postcards (1946), one from War Food Administration and
the other from the Bureau of the Census, reflect Barksdale's involvement
with cotton agriculture. Also included are three identical pamphlets issued
by Paul B. Johnson, Sr., in his 1935 gubernatorial campaign.
