The First Baptist Church of Ripley was formed in 1839 as the Ripley Baptist Church. In the early years, it was a member of the Chickasaw Association and later became a member of the Tippah Baptist Association. The collection contains a volume of financial records, 1870-1896; four volumes of minute books which include church membership rolls, 1885-1907, 1919-1922, 1924-1929 and 1946-1954; and one volume of membership lists, c. 1930-1968.
