This collection consists of financial records of the mercantile store owned by A. Klaus in Macon, Mississippi, covering the period from 1925 to 1955. Included are cashbooks, daybooks, and records of goods ordered from various suppliers. A. Klaus and Company closed in 1977. Klaus also owned the Dreamland Theatre and the Grill, and some records pertain to these businesses. Those records that could be identified as such have been placed with the miscellaneous volumes.
