A collection of photocopies of letters and a telegram to former South Carolina governor Strom Thurmond from former Mississippi governor Fielding Wright, candidates for President and Vice-President of the United States' Rights Democrat Party ticket in 1948.

The collection contains the following: a telegram sent March 19, 1948, from Wright to Thurmond, stating content of a statement to be released the following day at a press conference (a call to fight the Civil Rights legislation in Congress); two letters to Thurmond from Wright dated March 25, 1948, June 9, 1948; and a letter from Folsom R. Smith, administrative assistant to Thurmond, to Fielding Wright, dated June 14, 1948.
