Sarah Taylor of Lucedale, Mississippi, was a cooperative weather observer at Merrill, for the United States Department of Commerce Weather Bureau for at least fifty years.

The addition to her collection consists of two certificates awarded to Mrs. Taylor (Thomas Jefferson award and the John Companies Holm Award) for her work with the Weather Bureau; two photographs of Mrs. Taylor and a letter from W. L. Thompson, director of the Weather Bureau Southern Region Headquarters, to Mrs. Taylor, expressing appreciation for the completion of fifty years of public service.
