Bertie Westbook (Mrs. Charles Kennedy) Hickey was born in Meridian, daughter of B. M. Westbrook. She came to Jackson around 1920 where she organized the first Woman's Civic Club in the city. Mrs. Hickey was president of the Mississippi Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and of the Frances Ewing Gordon Chapter, King's Daughters and Sons, and was active in other civic and religious groups
