Meyer-Marx Drugstore, Port Gibson, was the successor to the J. A. Shreve Drugstore and to Wilkerson and Brown's Drugstore. I. R. Meyer bought them out in 1926 and took in his brother-in-law, Mr. Marx, as partner. The collection contains general correspondence; personal and legal papers; inventories; and minutes and correspondence of the Port Gibson Kiwanis Club. A sampling was taken of the drug prescriptions and invoices for merchandise purchased. The general correspondence is arranged alphabetically by year; all other files being arranged chronologically. In addition to these papers there are seventeen volumes of general ledgers, daily cash receipts, minute books, stock certificates and luxury tax records.
