Ira G. Holloway was born in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He served in the Mississippi Legislature from Monroe County, 1871–1875. In 1866 he moved to Oxford, Lafayette County. This letter was written by Holloway to Dr. C. R. Agnew of New York concerning a prescription for medicine for Mrs. Holloway's eyes. Holloway wrote from DeSoto Front, DeSoto County.
