Letter of George Frederick Holmes (1820–1897), first president of the University of Mississippi, to O. B. Bunce concerning Holmes' sixth school reader. Holmes served as president of the University one year, 1848–1849. In 1857, he became professor of history and literature at the University of Virginia in which capacity he was serving when this letter was written.
