Eliza Abert Wright's first husband, Dr. B. C. Barry, was an uncle of Shadie Sullivan (Buchanan) Gayarre, wife of historian Charles Gayarre. Eliza Wright later married Rev. David Wright, a missionary from Vermont to the Choctaws. Her sister was Louisa Abert Neilson, "Belmont," Lowndes County.
