NO MISTAKE PLANTATION RECORDS

1850 - 1933

This collection contains letters, bills, receipts, forms, and journals relating to No Mistake Plantation and the Vicksburg and Yazoo City Telephone Company. No Mistake Plantation is located near Satartia in Yazoo County. Frank Pleasant Smith, the first Smith to own No Mistake Plantation, came from Madison County with his mother, Elizabeth Pritchard Smith, and a brother, John Smith. Later he married Catheryn Ratcliff of Rankin County. Frank P. Smith, Jr., managed the plantation prior to William H. Smith, who died in 1948. In 1972, Mrs. William H. Smith owned and managed the plantation.
