Military papers of Loyd Julian Kiernan, Captain, Retired—USAR. Kiernan, a native of Vicksburg, served in the 155th Infantry (1st Mississippi Infantry) in World War I and later in the National Guard. The papers include service records, copies of orders, medical records, certificates of discharge, photographs, cartoons, and other memorabilia. Kiernan, railroad and transportation authority, was the author of many articles on transportation, including "Railroads" for the Britannica Book of the Year, 1956-1957-1958.
