Resource Study Proposals of Springfield and Buena Vista Plantation by William E. Cox, Historian, Natchez Trace Parkway. Springfield was built by Thomas M. Green, Jr., in Jefferson County between 1800 and 1812 and is still standing. Buena Vista Plantation, in Claiborne County, was the location of a steam cotton gin, a portion of which remains.
