Typescript of address delivered by Gerard Brandon on May 14, 1935, in delivering a deed from the Trustees of Jefferson College to the State of Mississippi, conveying the site to the State. The occasion was the dedication of the Historical Marker commemorating the location of the site of the first constitutional convention in Mississippi in 1817.

Mr. Brandon's grandfather, Gerard C. Brandon, was a member of the convention, and later governor of Mississippi.
