Manuscript (typescript) entitled Some Historical Aspects of Madison County, Mississippi, 1828–1873, consisting of thirty-six pages of text, with eleven pages of charts, maps, graphs, and tables. The history of the formation of the county and the selection of county seats is of special interest. Economic conditions are reflected in compilations of charges made for use of turnpikes, names of ferries and charges for use, maximum rates to be charged by taverns; names of early towns and plantations are also given.
