Typed copy of the original diary-journal of Flavellus G. Nicholson, who was born in Kemper County August 9, 1837, and died in Noxubee County January 21, 1893. Nicholson was a member of the First Regiment, Mississippi Cavalry, Confederate States Army. He was discharged January 11, 1863. The diary-journal contains information pertaining to early Confederate military actions in Mississippi, as well as many interesting observations on the conditions of farming and other economic conditions in Mississippi immediately after the Civil War.
