Combination diary, notebook and account book of Luther S. Baechtel, Jackson, a clerk in the office of the State Treasurer. The main part of the diary covers the period from Sept. 16, 1862, to Nov. 10, 1863. The memoranda section of the book contains a list of the members of the Burt Rifles killed and wounded in the Battle of Sharpsburg, Sept. 15–16, 1862. The volume contains 98 pages and is 7.5 x 15 cm. in size.
