Scope and Content:
The papers and records of the United Spanish War Veterans, Department of Mississippi, date from April 1, 1926, to December 5, 1947. They include correspondence, financial records, orders, rosters, death records, membership applications, reports, and minutes of meetings. The collection also contains papers and records of the Harry C. Marshall Auxiliary No. 1 of Jackson and the William J. Cleveland Auxiliary No. 8 of Moss Point. The papers are distributed by date as follows: 1926–1929 (46 items); 1930–1939 (1,687 items); 1940–1947 (2,544 items); and undated (295 items). The papers are filed in 207 folders.
